ASHANTI
The fourth studio album from Irv Gotti’s former underling is a solid, if not electrifying start on the path to creative freedom. Ashanti’s vocals aren’t the most captivating, but her style is classy; she easily switches between the woman scorned and the woman in love, while tracks from star producers (LT Hutton, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri, Babyface) keep her in her comfort zone. My Chemical Romance march hit by 'internet terrorists'
In an apparent attempt to discredit the protest, the group have created a copy of the fans' website with a similar web address.
The false website includes videos incorrectly claiming that the fans will commit mass suicide outside The Daily Mail's offices on May 31, in protest against the paper's representation of emo in relation to the recent suicide of teenager Hannah Bond.
In reality, however, the group will merely protest peacefully outside the newspaper's offices.
The march's organiser Anni Smith told NME.COM: "They're trying to put out really incorrect information to try and sabotage us. We believe [the fake site] is by Anonymous, who are basically internet terrorists. They play really elaborate internet pranks.
"We need to get the message across to people about which websites to look at for the correct information. As well as the official site - Whatthefrank.co.uk - we've got a YouTube channel which will be kept up to date - youtube.com/whattheffrank."
Smith also commented on Gerard Way's recent quotes on the suicide of Hannah Bond and accusations of the band's influence, saying: "It's great to see that, it's reiterating everything that I've always said, it's good to know we're right."

Smurfs head for big-screen
The Smurfs, those blue-skinned cartoon gnomes with short tails and white hats, are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a Hollywood movie deal announced by Columbia Pictures.
The Sony Corp-owned studio said it has acquired motion picture rights to the Belgian-born characters from Lafig Belgium S.A. for a big-screen Smurfs adaptation mixing computer-graphic imagery and live action.
A similar "hybrid" treatment was recently given to another popular cartoon ensemble in the highly successful Alvin and the Chipmunks movie from 20th Century Fox.
Like Alvin and his rodent companions, the Smurfs will be created by CGI technology and interact with real actors portraying humans.
No casting decisions have been made or director chosen, but the studio is in negotiations with David Stem and David Weiss, the writing team behind both Shrek sequels and The Rugrats Movie, to pen a Smurfs screenplay.
The Smurfs, simply drawn, diminutive beings - just "three apples tall" - with blue skin, white trousers and white caps, rank among the most widely recognized cartoon characters in the world.
Encompassing over 100 characters, the mostly male individuals all share the Smurf moniker and a descriptive first name - such as Lazy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Brainy Smurf and Grandpa Smurf.
Created in 1958 by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford, aka Peyo, the Smurfs first appeared in a series of Belgium comic strips and were originally called Les Schtroumpfs in French.
They are perhaps best known to the English-speaking world from the long-running Hanna-Barbera cartoon series that aired on NBC's Saturday morning lineup through the 1980s and is still seen in roughly 30 countries.
The Smurf phenomenon has also spawned a huge merchandising empire comprising statuettes, games, toys and videos.
Movie rights to the property originally were secured in 2002, and the producer for the project, Jordan Kerner, had been developing a Smurfs feature at Viacom Inc's Paramount Pictures, which now has an option to co-finance the film and distribute it internationally.
No time frame for production or release of the film has been set, but a Columbia spokesman said, "We are committed to it and hope to get moving on it as quickly as we can."

Legs Diamond was an apart voiceless rock/heavy metallic element band from the belated '70s. Founding members Michael Diamond (bass) and Jeff Poole (drums) were earlier from the San Francisco area, just it wasn't until the couplet resettled to Los Angeles that they base the absent pieces to the mystifier -- vocalist Rick Sanford, guitar player Roger Romeo, and keyboard player/guitarist Mike Prince -- resulting in a recording foreshorten with Mercury. 1977 power saw a pair off of releases, a self-titled debut and A Diamond Is a Hard Rock, and although they supported both albums with sphere tours hatchway for such major rock acts as Styx, Ted Nugent, and Kiss, neither failed to ding the charts. Shortly after a switch to the independent Cream label a year by and by, Legs Diamond issued their third loss overall, Fire Power, which was a more mainstream-oriented loss, as the group hoped that the switch would bring them breakthrough success. The ploy didn't work, as it was even more than poorly received than their previous releases, leading to the group's detachment in brief thenceforth. In 1984, Sanford, Romeo, and Prince revived the mathematical group (with newcomers Dusty Watson on drums and Mike Christie on bass), issuance respective ignored albums -- 1984's Out on Bail, 1986's Country of the Gun, and 1990's Ithiel Town Bad Girl -- ahead splitting up once more than. But in 2001, Legs Diamond was revived once again for a new release, The Wish.
